“Podaruj dziecku swoj jezyk ojczysty” (“Give your child the gift of your native language”) is an international campaign aimed at Polish-speaking parents run in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

We aim to provide information and advice on issues of bilingualism and bilingual education to help parents and teachers make informed decisions and ensure children of Polish origin  brought up abroad are given the opportunity to become bilingual (or trilingual).

As part of the campaign, we prepared a free guide "Bilingualism in questions and answers" (at the moment available in Polish only), a poster and a leaflet, as well as graphics for our partners and supporters' websites. On this website we publish research news and other relevant information and we use social media to promote the campaign. We are now working on the preparation of video materials.

The campaign is organized by the Association for the Promotion of Polish Language Abroad ( and is supported by 47 prestigious organisations and institutions across Europe, including many universities and all Embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Poland (the full list of honorary patrons is available here).

The campaign is co-funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
